Skene Street School from
1878. The original building is on left, it was all built by the
School Board for a total cost of £7075 including purchase of site. At
the end of the 1880s the wing immediately on right was added, while the
final addition housing the assembly hall on extreme right came in
1963-1964. Below, the school from behind showing the conversion
of Jack’s Brae (in foreground) into a pleasant grassy slope with seats
for the public.
